Today's idea is repeated from Day 94, but the meditation for this lesson varies slightly. It is taken from the text portion of A Course in Miracles:
I am as God created me. His Son can suffer nothing. And I am His Son.
You and I and everyone else on the planet are all God's Children. We are the Sons and Daughters of God, and together, we make up the entire Sonship. This is what is meant by "I am His Son." When we realize that we are all connected, when we remember our Oneness, we recognize that each of us is a reflection of the other and that there is only One of us here. As Marianne Williamson, a great teacher of A Course in Miracles, says frequently in her lectures, "God has only one begotten Son, and we're all it."
I am as God created me. This statement gives us the true liberty we have been longing for. How could God have created anything less than Holy, less than Perfect, or less than Loving and Joyful? Doing so would speak very lowly of God, for why would He Who is the Origin of Creation, Who is Love's ignition, have made anything less than Glorious? We are extensions of God, and as so, we are as Perfect and Holy and Loving as He created us. Many of us, most of us, have simply forgotten this fact. But now is the time to remember.
Remember that you and I are but individuated Aspects of Divinity. We are singular expressions of God Himself. Nothing can change that. And as today's meditation tells us, His Son can suffer nothing. Anything by which we perceive ourselves to suffer, then, is simply nothing at all. It is part of the illusion we have made up in the process of forgetting Who We Really Are.
We are born into this world completely innocent and entirely pure. As we grow older and become brainwashed by our egos into a negative way of thinking, we forget how it is we came to be. We are still completely innocent and entirely pure. The wrongs we have done have not actually been done at all, for they never existed in the first place. Remember that we can suffer nothing.
As difficult as it may be to believe this at first, consider the possibility. Consider the possibility that any hurt you have inflicted, whether upon yourself or another, is all in your head. Consider the possibility that the things that have been and may continue to be stressful for you are but illusions in your mind. Imagine the release you would feel if you could be transported to another world on the opposite end of the galaxy, leaving all your troubles behind, and bringing with you only the good and joy and peace you so desire.
It is not only a possibility; it is Truth. When we remember Who We Really Are, we are transported. We return to the Heart of God, where there only exists Love, Light, and endless Joy. It is there where we experience our most cherished memories here on earth. And anything that does not reflect His Happiness is simply left behind, for it was never there to begin with.
As you move through your day today, remember this often. I am as God created me. You are a Holy Being, a Divine Incarnation, a Blessed Child of God - connected to every living being on the planet by virtue of the fact that we are all Expressions of God. You cannot suffer, because God would never have it so. Let suffering then fall behind into the land of nonexistence where it belongs. Claim your True Nature today. God, along with the rest of the world, is waiting for you to remember Who You Are.
Until tomorrow,
Journeyman
