Today's meditation may at first appear rather depressing. But after taking a closer look at what it really means, it's quite liberating.
The world I see holds nothing that I want.
What we cherish most are the experiences we have in the world. But they are not of the world. We must remember that. What is of the world may only serve as a mere representation of our True Joy. In essence, they are meaningless, and in actuality offer us nothing.
What today’s lesson calls for is that we have no attachments. By what can we profit if we are attached to things which only will decay in time? That is all the physical world offers. It is not an offering at all, but an imprisonment. That which sets us free is not of this world, but we can experience it within this world. We can express it, even. But we must be aware that physical expressions of Love are but representations, and are only temporary.
The world we see holds nothing that we want, but the world we feel holds everything we want. Even amid our darkest emotions, there is Love hidden within. To realize this, we need but surrender our fears and sorrows unto God. He will dispose of them with His Light, and thus expose our own Light to us.
Remember that wherever fear is present, there is Love. As mentioned yesterday, fear is Love's opposite. In Reality, Love has no opposite, but in the context of time and the physical world, it can. Fear can only exist where Love is present, just as shadows only exist where there is light. To dispel of a shadow, one must shine light all around. The same is true of fear.
Think about it. What reason would you have to fear if Love was not there? The only reason that fear or any of its variations (anger, hurt, guilt, shame, loneliness, or sadness) comes up is as a means of protection, for its result is withdrawal and separation. What else would we protect but the only thing we ever need - Love? Fear is a false means of protection, however, for it constricts and disguises the Love underneath. Fear imprisons, rather than setting free, which is what Love stands for. Love needs no protection, for Love is All Powerful. Magnify your love by sharing it with others. In doing so you share it with God. That is how the Light shines all around your shadows. That is how there will be shadows no more.
Remember that what we see in this world cannot harm us, but neither can it help us. Our true guidance - that is to say our Guide to Truth - is of a world beyond the one we see with our human eyes. We can only feel its presence here, but that alone is powerful enough to melt away all the illusions we may see. Sure, enjoy the beautiful images this world may behold. Use them, even, as tools to look past their own artificial presence to the Real World beyond. But want them not, for they are only pictures. See the tragic images for what they are as well - mere holograms in a dream world.
All that is meaningful is timeless. Everything else will eventually fade away. Where will you hinge your hopes today?

Day 127: There is no love but God's.
There is no love but God's.
As I meditated on today's lesson, something came over me. A deep awareness began to surge through me, and I knew I must grab my pen and paper. This is what I scribed:
Until tomorrow,
Journeyman
As I meditated on today's lesson, something came over me. A deep awareness began to surge through me, and I knew I must grab my pen and paper. This is what I scribed:
There is but One Love, expressed in an infinite number of ways. It appears there are different kinds of Love, when all Love is actually the same. Family, friendship, romance - these are simply different ways in which we experience that One Love.My pen stopped moving at that moment, which suffices to say that there is no more to say. All I will add here is this: With this knowledge, let us live our lives in harmony and in peace, with greater awareness of Who We Are and to Where we will all inevitably return. Conflict and anguish is unnecessary. We have nothing to fear. Love is All there Is, and All there ever Will Be. Thank God for that.
The Big Bang was the beginning of the contextual structure we call time. It was born out of Love, for that is All there Really Is and All there ever Will Be. In Truth, there is no time, but God created it so as to have a context through which He could experience Who He Is - and He is Love.
God experiences His Love through us, His Children, and we are only able to do this through the construct of time. Only in time can Love have an opposite. This opposite is fear, and it is of our own making. We have done so because, in time, we believe ourselves to be separate from one another and from God. In Reality, this is not so, for God is All there Is.
We appear as separate beings only so that we may experience the infinite number of Love's expressions, which manifest emotionally and leave an imprint on the physical world. We forget that in Truth we are all One because of our perceived physical separateness. In doing so, we unconsciously create Love's opposite - fear.
Where Love is withheld, fear is expressed in its place. What is made in fear, out of belief in separation, cloaks that which is Real. And only Love is Real. Everything else is an illusion of our misguided minds, from the part that believes it is all alone, isolated in a hostile world. This is our ego mind. But it, too, is an illusion.
The only up side of fear is that it serves as a basis for comparison. When Love is juxtaposed with fear, we remember Who We Really Are. This is our salvation. To achieve this, we need but turn around and See the Light. We do this by turning our way of thinking around, by determining to see the bright side in the midst of darkness. If we hold our fear up to the Light, we understand Who We Are and who we are not. In doing so our fear is dispelled, for fear, being nothing and nonexistent in Reality, is but a shadow - it disappears when Light is shined upon it.
As Neale Donald Walsch discovered in Conversations with God, to remember is to re-member. Our Oneness has become dismembered. To re-member is to bring together again. And what function does Love serve than to bring together? Yes, Love also sets free, and it does so through its own extension and expansion. But setting free is not to be confused with breaking apart. Love sets free in order to then bring together. That is all it is capable of, for We are All One in God, and there is no Love but God's.

Day 126: All that I give is given to myself.
Our meditation for today reads as follows:
All that I give is given to myself. The Help I need to learn that this is true is with me now. And I will trust in Him.
We are all One, so what we give to others, we do give to ourselves. This is the fundamental reason why giving and receiving are one and the same. Now, that doesn’t mean if we give someone a pink pony that we will receive a pink pony. It is not the thing that is given which we receive back, for that is an illusion of the physical world anyway. The real gift is what we imbue with that item, and it is that which we will then receive.
The joy and love with which we give something will always come back to us. And if, perchance, what we give is not received in love, it will wait until the recipient is ready to receive it. As long as we make the honest effort, what we give will be returned to us, in some way, somehow, at some uncertain time. We cannot control how someone receives our gifts, but we can choose to forgive them when they are resistant. That in itself is a gift.
Forgiveness is seeing an error as corrected. It is bridging what was divided to make whole. It is healing the wound of another, and knowing that yours are then healed as well. Forgiveness is the act of giving for oneself. Where you see a situation as unsettling, give joy and peace so that it becomes serene. Withholding forgiveness will only leave you unsettled. Where another person has attacked you out of his misguided belief that you are separate from him, look into his eyes and silently let him know that you are but a reflection of who he is. Thus you will restore your wholeness. Thus you will receive the gift which you are giving.
With this knowledge today, let us give freely of ourselves, knowing that the Golden Carriage which delivers our gifts will return to us bearing even greater treasures. For the Carriage is the Real gift. What it carries is just its representation. And God will bless all that is shared among His Children and infuse their gifts with exponential Joy.

Day 125: In quiet I receive God's Word today.
In quiet I receive God's Word today.
The workbook of A Course in Miracles instructs us to take 10 minutes at three different intervals throughout the day to listen to our Creator.
You have been anointed a Holy Child of God, and you will change the world in a profound way.
Go where the path of your bliss will take you, and others will follow. They will come to you as if drawn in by a magnet. Do not expend excess energy in place of keeping your quiet reserve.
When you feel hurt or angry, guilty or fearful, sad or lonely or shameful, acknowledge it. Call it by name and surrender it to Me. I will dispel the darkness with My Light.
If you want to be rich, feel the richness within you. If you want love, feel the capacity to love within yourself. The outside world will reflect that which you are inside. Your mind is far more powerful than your body, and your mind joined with others will together shape the world around you.
These words, of course, apply to every single one of us. We are all Children of God, and we each have an essential role to play in the salvation of our world. We must remember to always follow our bliss, for what is in Joy is aligned with God. Let us stay rooted to that happy path, and not meander about. We need not try too hard to bring others into our joy, for the fact that we are joyful will magnetize the rest to follow. During the moments we feel anything less than happy, let us recognize it and surrender it over to God. To be outwardly wealthy, know inside that we are already wealthy. The same goes for love, for success, for anything we want to manifest in our lives. It begins with our thoughts, our sense of being within. Mind over matter. Our minds will create what we see and experience around ourselves.
So that was the Word of God as I received it today. Try this for yourself. Find a time where you can sit quietly for just a few minutes. Be still and simply listen. Let all distracting thoughts pass through your mind without letting your awareness quaver. You will hear God speak through you, in one way or another. Just be open and willing to listen patiently. Your willingness is everything, and it will not go unrecognized.
Let the words you hear uplift you on this day, and let them fill you with an unwavering joy to walk in greater confidence tomorrow and all the days to come.
Until tomorrow,

The workbook of A Course in Miracles instructs us to take 10 minutes at three different intervals throughout the day to listen to our Creator.
Let this day be a day of stillness and of quiet listening. Your Father wills you hear His Word today. He calls to you from deep within your mind where He abides. Hear Him today. No peace is possible until His Word is heard around the world; until your mind, in quiet listening, accepts the message that the world must hear to usher in the quiet time of peace.During the course of my meditations today, these were the words I heard:

Day 124: Let me remember I am one with God.
Today's meditation is an important reminder for us all. We are forever connected to our Source, never alone, and never apart from any of His creations.
Let me remember I am one with God, at one with all my brothers and my Self, in everlasting holiness and peace.
The Course asks us to find a time during the day to spend thirty minutes in stillness as we contemplate our Oneness with God.
In my own thirty-minute meditation, I attempted to understand this concept of Oneness on a deeper level. I was first told to simply sit with the idea that We are One with God. Do not try to to complicate matters with images, a distant voice instructed me. Just feel the Universe and everything in it by sitting in My place at the Center of it All. I did as God advised me, letting all thoughts and imagery I associated with Oneness fade away. I felt myself sink deeper and deeper, seeing nothing, but feeling everything. My body was gone, and in its place all I could feel was electricity. I sensed a nebulous, constantly-expanding essence all around me, of which I, too, was a part. And if I paid close attention, I could feel electrical impulses tingling in various sections of the shapeless form in which I sat. These tiny pulsations filled me with a unique joy and warmth with every sensation I felt. I realized then that this was the True Universe, or as close as I could now come to comprehending it.
Being spirit incarnated in a physical world, we are accustomed to using our five senses in order to understand something. But this was way beyond anything our five human senses could touch. It could only be felt, and even that, I believe, was a meager experience of what Truly awaits us.
Of course, living in on a physical plane of existence, I soon began translating what I was feeling into imagery, in order to have a tangible context I could take with me as I returned to the material world.
As a representation of what I felt, I started to envision God as a Great Tree. But instead of bark and branches and leaves, this Tree was made of Light. The trunk, the Center of the Tree, was like the Core of our Universe. Each limb springing from it represented a galaxy. Each branch sprouting forth was a solar system, and each twig upon the branches was a different planet. The leaves were like the life-forms living upon each planet. Every leaf was connected to every other through the branches of Light within the Great Tree.
This, I thought, was a wonderful picture. We are all, every one of us, part of the same Great Tree of Life. We are all a life-force of Light upon that Tree, at one with our Holy Family, which is our God.
Tonight, as I went for a long walk on a beautiful cool evening amid the rain-stained streets of Los Angeles, I breathed in the crisp autumn air as I gazed at the towering trees lining the sidewalks strewn with fallen leaves. I thought about the experience I had in my meditation, and the image I saw of the Great Tree of Light. What a glorious thing to know that we are all connected to one another, that every person we encounter is our family, joined with us in our Oneness with God.
Know today that you are not alone. Know that your rightful place in Heaven has been kept for you as your presence on this earth contributes to the electrical impulses of Joy which are felt throughout the Universe. You are an essential part of God's Tree of Life and Light. Shine brightly with your happiness, and your brothers and sisters will surely feel the tingling of your joy as you move through life with the awareness that you are One with God.

Day 123: I thank my Father for His gifts to me.
I thank my Father for His gifts to me.
Today the Course instructs us to meditate on gratitude - gratitude for being alive, gratitude for our wholeness, gratitude for our peace, our joy, and our kinship with one another and with God.
Gratitude plays such an important role in our ability to receive what it is we long for. We start by giving thanks for what we already have. It is when we begin to do this that we realize how lucky we are. Be grateful that you have the eyes to read the words written here. Be grateful that your heart is beating, that your lungs are filling with air. Be grateful for your friends and family, whomever and wherever they may be. Be grateful that you can surf the web and connect with billions of different people across the globe with a simple keystroke or a click of a mouse. And we're only at the tip of the iceberg... You have so much to be grateful for already. Count your blessings, and you'll begin to know how much your Father in Heaven loves you.
When we are grateful for what we have, we reside in a place of joy. It is in such a state that we are aligned with God, and therefore open to receiving more of what makes us happy. This is why today's lesson is so important.
One of my rituals before going to bed each night is to write down just one thing that happened during the day, something for which I am grateful. This simple task is easy enough for everyone to do, and by the end of the year you'll have 365 reasons to be grateful (among the endless list of blessings which are forever yours by God's grace).
Do not underestimate the power of gratitude. Without it, how could we appreciate all that has been given us? Without it, our joy is incomplete. Giving thanks is the sure way to receive more of that which we are thankful. Remember that giving and receiving are one in truth (see Day 108).
Gratitude is also a method by which we may forgive. If we blessed every person who hurt us, betrayed us or just simply pissed us off - if we gave thanks for their presence by seeing the circumstance they presented as a learning tool for our own soul growth - we would find it easier to forgive.
On this day let us spend just a few quiet minutes making a mental list of everything we have to be grateful for. Whatever those things may be, let us look even deeper at how they make us feel - loving, joyful, peaceful. These are the gifts from God. These gems of Love, Joy and Peace are the eternal treasures our Father has passed on to us. They are ours forever, however they may manifest in our lives. So let us give gratitude today for all that we possess. What more could we want? We already have all that we need.
Until tomorrow,

Day 122: Forgiveness offers everything I want.
Below is the meditation which A Course in Miracles instructs us to remind ourselves every fifteen minutes throughout the day today:
Forgiveness offers everything I want.
Today I have accepted this as true.
Today I have received the gifts of God.
Here is an excerpt from the workbook further elaborating on today's lesson:
To attain forgiveness, we must travel through the darkness we have constructed. Once we know the Truth of our being, this becomes easier. We know then that we are not alone, and that the helping Hand of God is there to guide us through the shadows. The act of forgiving is to See past the darkness, and to allow the Light hidden within to shine through and bless us with its presence. Remember, the purpose of forgiving is for giving: We give love and joy and peace to the person or situation we perceive as attacking; and as giving and receiving are one and the same, we will receive back the love and joy and peace we give. The process of doing so is to bring Light unto the darkness; and as all shadows disappear in the presence of light, so will our dark illusions be vanquished in the presence of forgiveness.
Indeed, what more could we want than for our world to be rid of the terrible things which now seem to inhabit it? Forgiveness guarantees this. Once forgiveness has been offered, a pearl of Peace awaits to take its place. In time, forgiveness will no longer be necessary, for none living on this world will then regard themselves as separate. It is then that we will have achieved our Salvation. It is then that only our creations of Love, Joy and Peace will reign the earth, right alongside us, God's own creations of the same, eternally expanding and extending the Holy Light within us all. Forgiveness is the path which leads us to that Blessed Place.
Let us remember this as we go about our day today, and for all the days to come. Let us not forget that we are never alone, and though in the presence of fear and attack we may be accustomed to react in a separatist frame of mind, let us instead hold our hand firmly to the Hand of God and move through the darkness to perceive the Pure and Innocent Light within.
Until tomorrow,

Forgiveness offers everything I want.
Today I have accepted this as true.
Today I have received the gifts of God.
Here is an excerpt from the workbook further elaborating on today's lesson:
What could you want forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset?
All this forgiveness offers you, and more. It sparkles on your eyes as you awake, and gives you joy with which to meet the day. It soothes your forehead while you sleep, and rests upon your eyelids so you see no dreams of fear and evil, malice and attack. And when you wake again, it offers you another day of happiness and peace. All this forgiveness offers you, and more.As we all know, forgiveness does not always come easily. This is because we have become accustomed to seeing ourselves as separate from each other. In doing so, we have lashed out and perceived ourselves as victims of attack. The world has drawn itself as a cruel place, full of monsters to be avoided and tragedies to be suffered. But this does not have to be so. In Reality, it isn't, for we never were nor ever will be separate from one another.
To attain forgiveness, we must travel through the darkness we have constructed. Once we know the Truth of our being, this becomes easier. We know then that we are not alone, and that the helping Hand of God is there to guide us through the shadows.
